Five Stunning Hairstyles You Can Create with Straighteners

Getting your hair ready for the day can be a challenge for some women. Unfortunately you can’t always go to the salon to have your hair styled.

So how can you create stunning hairstyles in the comfort of your own home with just the use of a simple straightener? If you’re tired of the usual straight do and want to turn things up a notch, here are some fresh new styles to try:

Sweet Beach Waves

It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or in the middle of the chilly winter, if you want to look more relaxed and sexy, go for waves. Waves are simple curls that add volume. Creating waves with the use of a flat iron can be difficult at first, you need to practice with an unplugged straightener before you try it with your hair.

The first important thing to remember is to never try to curl hair when it’s wet. Curling must be done on dry hair when it is easiest to shape. Ironing wet hair can cause irreversible damage to your hair.

To begin curling, preheat your flat iron for 2 minutes. Then, use 1.5 -2 cm of your hair and wrap it gently, curling forward using your flat iron. Divide your hair into sections and continue curling until all strands are curled. Don’t forget to use a hairspray after curling to keep your beach waves in for the whole day.

Effortless Bun Hairstyle

Do tight buns feel a little too polished for casual? Using a large barrelled curling iron, you can turn your tight bun into a gorgeous effortless bun in less than five minutes.

It’s a simple twirl and pull method, you can learn in just a few tries. First, use the curling iron to create voluminous curls. Just like how you did on the beach waves, but tighter. Don’t forget to use a hairspray for better hold. Then, pull your hair into a high ponytail and slowly twist it into a bun. Use your finger to separate the ends for a casual and more relaxed look.

Tip: Women with thin hair can use hair extensions to create volume. Simply add the extension to your ponytail before wrapping the bun.

Siren Wave

Although it’s called a straightener, one of the great things you can do is waves. And now that summer’s near in season, what better way to style your hair than this cool mermaid-hair look. Siren waves are a little different from the full curls we’re used to seeing. They don’t just add volume to hair, they also create bounce and a smooth look to your strands.

Creating siren waves uses a technique where you have to hold the iron horizontally. You need to work on shallow, wide sections of your hair to create these distinctive curls. While holding the iron horizontally, place strands of hair between the iron and start curling right at the roots. Rotate it to 360 degrees away from the head.

Tip: Always use a heat protectant when working with straighteners to reduce damage caused by the heat.

The New Sleek

It is straight hair, but not the kind of straight that makes you look like you’re one of the members of a metal band. The new sleek hairstyle creates movement in your otherwise boring vertical strands.

To create this hairstyle, simply start right at the roots and angle your straightener so that it lifts the strand away from the head. Then run it down slowly working through the lengths until you’ve covered all your strands. If you have thick hair, you should do this process more slowly.

Timeless Flipped-Out Ends

If you want a hairstyle that looks more retro, you can try flipped ends. Flipped ends are best for hair that is chin length, anything shorter can be hard to work with.

Creating flipped ends requires you to run the straightener over the bottom of your hair shaft. Then, roll the iron upward while your hair is still between the plate (like when you’re curling, but in an upward position). Repeat this process until you have worked on all ends.

Tip: If you’d like to try the modern version of this style, simply create softer flips.

How To Look Stylish On The Golf Course

Golf does not have to be a stuffy and boring sport. You can bring in a splash of style and color. Just like everything else in life, the game had to evolve to keep up with the times. Nowadays, even young and middle classed people are playing golf. They want to make golf more interesting and bring their own style with it. But, you also do not want to be too distracting on the golf course for the whole game. When you walk out on the green, you will turn heads with these five fashion tips.

  1. You Do Not Have to Look so Professional
When someone says golf, everyone automatically thinks stiff, all-white attire, shorts, visor, cheesy wool hat, and sunglasses. It does not have to be like that. Golf, just let most sports, is not a time to dress up in your Sunday best. You can wear those jean shorts and your favorite colored t-shirt to the golf course. Nobody will judge you. The last thing you want is to add onto the stereotype of golf with that stiff, stuck-up, and boring image of rich people on the golf course during the weekend.
  2. Mix Loud Colors with a Neutral Base
Most people are not fans of loud colors in general. Nobody wants to end up in a traffic accident because you walked out of the house with a shirt so bright that it blinded any drivers passing by. However, there is a way to tame loud colors. Put them with a neutral base of your outfit. Golf player Rickie Fowler was able to pull it off with his orange pants and matching hat because he wore a white shirt and matching shoes with the outfit. If pulled off just right, a white shirt can go with just about anything. Do not be afraid to step onto the golf course with brightly colored pants just as long as you are wearing a something like a white shirt to help subdue the color.
  3. You are Free to Stand Out
The whole fashion is to show off your unique style. The world would be boring if everyone dressed the same. The golf course is no different. It’s okay to show up in a shirt that makes people turn around for a second look. However, people do tend to go overboard with their style. The last thing that is needed during a golf game is for the score keeper and everyone else to lose track of how many points they earned because they were too busy staring at what you were wearing that day. Maybe, it is not a good idea to go play golf in bright blue cloud pajamas. Before you walk out of the house, be sure to find a happy balance between standing out and not looking like you escape from a mental institution.
  4. It is Okay to be Comfortable
Golf is mostly played outside during the spring and summer. You are likely to get hot and sweaty from playing on the whole course. It is not a smart idea to wear tight, dark clothes for this sport. This is why most players wear t-shirts and shorts with comfortable golf shoes. You can do the same thing too. It is okay to wear loose-fitting clothes if you believe that it will help air circulate and keep you cool while you play. Also, darker colors attract more heat than lighter colors do. Do not wear anything heavy and black to play golf. Unless you want to risk ruining your dark clothes in the wash, it will be a good idea to leave your favorite black clothing at home.
  5. Please Take Care of Your Shape
This tip will help with your style and health. Golfer Rickie Fowler used to have what is known as a “dad bod”. Critics and fans called him out for it and he did something about it. He watched his diet and worked out. Positive body image is really important in this day and age. You do not have to be muscled and super skinny to look good. But at the very least, try to get your weight down to a healthy number as your doctor recommends. Your health and favorite clothes will thank you for it later.

Tips For How To Style Graphic Tees

Graphic tees can be a fun and interesting addition to your wardrobe. With so many different styles available, they are the perfect way to show off your personality or to make a statement with your look. However, if you don’t style them correctly, they can look a bit sloppy. If you don’t want to look like you just rolled out of bed, try checking out some of these helpful tips on how to wear these shirts so that they look cute and stylish.

1. Add a blazer. One of the quickest ways to dress up a graphic tee is to throw a blazer on over the top of it. This will help give form and structure to your outfit, defining your waistline and giving it a more pulled together look. Depending on how dressy you want your outfit to be, you can either leave your t-shirt untucked under the blazer or you can tuck it in and add a belt to dress it up a little bit more.

2. Tuck your t-shirt into a high-waisted pencil skirt. For a fun and flirty look, try tucking a printed t-shirt into a high-waisted pencil skirt. The skirt adds a bit of femininity to your outfit and accentuates your curves. Additionally, because the shirt is tucked in, you will still have a defined waistline. This helps create a flattering silhouette.

3. Pair it with a maxi-skirt. Graphic tees work really well with maxi skirts. There is, however, one important caveat. Unless your shirt is cropped extremely short, you will need to tuck it into your skirt. Maxi skirts are designed to be loose and flowing. If you also add a loose t-shirt over the top of it, you will completely lose the shape of your body under all of the layers of fabric. By tucking in the shirt, however, you can create a much more flattering silhouette. The combination of the casual t-shirt and the dressy skirt can create an edgy and unique vibe.

4. Throw on a denim jacket. Denim jackets and printed t-shirts were practically made for one another. Look for a fitted jacket that is loose enough to easily move around in but that also flatters your shape. In most cases, you should avoid wearing a denim jacket with jeans in a similar color. Otherwise, it can be a bit too much denim. Instead, try wearing black pants or a black skirt with a graphic t-shirt and a denim jacket.

5. Add long necklaces. Another way to add extra style to a graphic t-shirt is by layering several long necklaces over the top. Again, this can add an extra element of style to your outfit, making it look like you put some thought and effort into what you are wearing.

6. Wear a long-sleeve shirt with a collar underneath. For a unique look, try wearing a long-sleeved dress shirt with a collar underneath your t-shirt. To keep the look casual, roll up the sleeves of the dress shirt to your elbows so that they stick out from the sleeves of the t-shirt but don’t go all the way to your wrists.

Hopefully, this gives you some ideas on how to style graphic tees so that they look fashionable and put together.
